In this video, Greg Rooney examines the culture of family mediation in France and Denmark with a focus on the Humanistic Mediation approach (France) and the Viking Mediation approach (Denmark).
He explores how underneath these differing approaches is the challenge of dealing with the head and the heart and the “intellectual and emotional” – within mediation.
Greg Rooney has been a practicing mediator in Australia since 1991. He has mediated face-to-face mediations between religious leaders and individual victims of sexual abuse in the Catholic, Anglican and Protestants religions in Australia as well as abuse within the Australian Defence Forces. Greg worked as a family and child mediator with Relationships Australia Queensland from 1998 to 2001. He recently retired as a director of the Mediator Standards Board. Greg has for the last eight years co-facilitated annual mediation retreats in Tuscany, Italy.
